Capital One Adds Three New Transfer Partners

I did not have this one in my bingo cards but Capital One just announced the addition of THREE new transfer partners. I don’t know if we’ve ever seen a major credit card add more than one new transfer partner at the same time but Capital One has done it.

The three new transfer partners are Japan Airlines, Qatar Airways, and I Prefer Hotels. Each of these are exciting in addition to having more options to use your Capital One Miles. This brings Capital One to 22 airline and hotel transfer partners.

My favorite way to earn Capital One miles is with the Capital One Venture X. Who doesn’t like earning double miles on all purchases?

Capital One Adds Japan Airlines

As of today, September 23rd, 2025, Japan Airlines Mileage Bank is now a transfer partner of Capital One. The transfer ratio isn’t ideal at 1000:750, meaning that if you transfer 1,000 Capital One Miles you’ll only receive 750 Japan Airlines Mileage Bank miles. However, they’ve kicked off this new partnership with a 30% transfer bonus through October 22, 2025. With the transfer bonus the transfer ratio is 1000:975.

Keep in mind that similar to Bilt your JAL account needs to be at least 7 days old in order to transfer miles. There’s no harm in creating a JAL Mileage Bank account now so you don’t have to worry about this in the future. Bilt transfers to JAL take 10 minutes so hopefully Capital One’s take the same amount of time.

The big advantage of this is that while JAL releases the same business class award seats to their partner airlines, JAL has a few days head start compared to their partners. JAL releases their schedule 360 days in advance compared to at most 355 days like their partners. JAL also does a pretty good job of releasing 2 business class seats right when their schedule opens so it can be a good way to snag some flights to Japan!

Capital One Adds Qatar Airways

In addition to JAL Mileage Bank, Capital One Miles can now also transfer to Qatar Airways Privilege Club at a 1:1 ratio. This is a great option to book Qatar’s incredible Qsuite business class. It is by far one of my absolute favorite business class products out there.

Capital One Adds Preferred Hotels

Lastly, Capital One has added I Prefer Hotels as a transfer partner at a 1:2 ratio. This isn’t as exciting as the other two even with what looks like a great transfer ratio especially when you consider that Citi has a 1:4 transfer ratio.

At the end of the day, more transfer partners are better than fewer.

Wrapping Up

Capital One just dropped some huge news today by adding three new transfer partners with Japan Airlines, Qatar Airways and Preferred Hotels. I’d say Japan Airlines is the most exciting with Preferred Hotels being least exciting. Either way, its always a good thing to have more transfer partners!
