Flexible Bilt Cash or updated card rewards?

Enter your card, your monthly rent or mortgage, and what you put on the card each month. The calculator runs both 2027 options for a full year and shows which one earns you more.

Your Bilt card

Flexible Bilt Cash

4% back in Bilt Cash on purchases. Spend it to unlock rent or mortgage points and buy Point Accelerators.

Updated card rewards

No Bilt Cash on purchases. Rent or mortgage earns up to 1.25x, based on how much you spend on the card.

How the calculator works
  • Updated card rewards pays on rent or mortgage by tier, using your monthly card spending as a share of your housing payment: under 25% earns 250 points per payment, 25% earns 0.5x, 50% earns 0.75x, 75% earns 1x and 100% or more earns 1.25x.
  • Flexible Bilt Cash unlocks housing points at $30 of Bilt Cash per 1,000 points, up to 1x. The calculator spends Bilt Cash on housing first, since that is the better use, then on Point Accelerators.
  • A Point Accelerator costs $200 of Bilt Cash and adds 1 point per dollar on up to $5,000 of purchases, up to five a year. The Bilt Blue can't use them.
  • Palladium credits: $200 Bilt Cash plus a $400 hotel credit under Flexible Bilt Cash; $600 Bilt Cash under updated card rewards. Obsidian: a $100 hotel credit under Flexible Bilt Cash; $100 Bilt Cash under updated card rewards. Hotel stays are paid from these first, and unused hotel credit is worth nothing.
  • Card earning: Blue 1x on everything; Obsidian 3x on dining or grocery (grocery up to $25,000 a year), 2x on travel, 1x on the rest; Palladium 2x on everything. The annual fee is the same under both options, so it doesn't change the answer.
  • It assumes steady monthly spending. If your spending is lumpy, Flexible Bilt Cash usually does better than shown, since it keeps earning on housing in slow months.
  • Timing: existing cardholders must choose Flexible Bilt Cash in card settings before their card anniversary. You can move from Flexible Bilt Cash to updated card rewards later, but not back. New cardholders only get the choice if they open a Palladium or Obsidian before January 1, 2027.
