Bilt Rewards Adds Qatar Airways as Transfer Partner

Bilt Rewards is the loyalty program of the Bilt Mastercard. If you’re a renter, this card is a no brainer. Even if you don’t rent, there is still a ton of value to be had with their program and a lot of ways to earn Bilt points even if you don’t rent. Just a week after Bilt added Japan Airlines as their newest transfer partner, they’ve done it again and added yet another. I have a feeling we’ll be getting a transfer bonus on June 1st for Rent Day too…

Qatar Airways is Bilt’s Newest Transfer Partner

Qatar Airways Privilege Club

Qatar Airways uses the Avios points currency for their Privilege Club frequent flyer program just like British Airways, Finnair, Aer Lingus and Iberia. While each of those airlines all use Avios as their points currency, they each have different award charts. That means the number of Avios one airline is charging could be very different than the other.

Using Qatar Airways Avios

Qatar has a distance based award chart which means the number of Avios you’ll need depends on the distance of the flight. While they don’t publish an award chart you can expect the following prices in business class:

  • United States to the Middle East: 70,000 Avios

  • United States to India: 80,000 Avios

  • United States to Europe (connecting in Doha): 85,000 Avios

Qatar’s Qsuite business class is among my absolute favorite business class products out there. The seats are incredible and even turn into a double bed. There are doors to each suite for added privacy and they even started serving caviar which is a first in business class.

Using Qatar Avios for Partner Awards

In addition to booking flights directly with Qatar, you can also use their Avios for flights on all of their OneWorld Alliance partners as well as their non-alliance partners like JetBlue, LATAM, and Virgin Australia just to name a few. Qatar does publish a partner award chart which is also distance based. So the further you fly, the more it will cost. I would prefer to use Alaska miles for travel on American than Qatar Avios since the prices are cheaper.

Wrapping Up

Bilt continues to impress me. Their program keeps on adding great and unique transfer partners and they have a new promotion on the first of each month to reward their members. Bilt adding Japan Airlines as their 20th transfer partner shows just how innovative they are.
