How to Earn Even More Points
Using the right credit card at the right place is by far the easiest way to earn a ton of points and miles on your everyday spending. But in addition to that, there are a number of other tools I use to earn even more.
Stacking is what we call using multiple offers, rebates and other tools to supercharge your points earning. Think of it like the extreme couponing days of the 90’s but much easier and you probably won’t get on a TLC show for it.
So what are the best ways to stack to earn more points?
Shopping Portals
Whenever I buy something online, I always click through a shopping portal to earn bonus points or miles on my purchase. With over 1,000 stores you’ll be able to earn tons of miles. They’re all free to use and many have browser extensions that will have a pop up telling you to click through the portal to earn bonus points and miles so you don’t forget.
Each shopping portal can have different rates which change from day to day so it is always a good idea to see which one has the most. Typically I use EV Reward or CashBack Monitor to search for a store and see which one has the best offer. As all points and miles aren’t worth the same, its smart to shop around. 3x Alaska miles are worth more than 4x Delta miles.

There are many more, but these are the most relevant for most people
Credit Card Points
Barclays- Must have a Barclays card
Rakuten- this earns cash back but you can change your payout to earn more valuable American Express points!
Cash Back
I prefer to earn points and miles, but sometimes there are much bigger cash back offers that are worth more than points.
Rakuten- You can earn cash back but I prefer to earn American Express points with Rakuten
Credit Card Offers
All major credit cards have merchant offers in their app or online. These are sometimes also called card-linked offers. The basics are pretty simple. You activate an offer, make the required purchase with the merchant and get a statement credit or points. They can be for online purchases or for in store purchases too.
I find American Express has the best offers out there with not only the most but also the largest amount of cash back earned. Others like Chase and Citi seem to limit most of the cash back earned to a under $10 per offer.
The best part about these offer is you can also go in through a shopping portal and earn even more points and miles! So not only will you get points for the credit card purchase, you’ll get a statement credit or points from the credit card offer, and you’ll also get points from the shopping portal.
Capital One Offers- this is a little different than the others as you have to click through their link to make the purchase
Just a Few Amex Offers
SaveWise
I also use an incredible service called SaveWise which automatically activates all your credit card offers. If you have more than one American Express card but have the same offer on multiple cards, you can only activate an offer on one of the cards. However, with SaveWise, it automatically activates them on all of them!
There is also a great browser extension that makes things super easy.
View available shopping portal offers
View available card-linked offers
Sync card-linked offers from Amex & Chase
Auto-activate Amex & Chase card-linked offers (Pro)
Auto-activate SimplyMiles and Rakuten In-Store offers (Pro)
There is both a free and paid version and I highly recommend getting the Pro Lifetime version for $119. This will more than pay for itself in the first year. Get SaveWise
With the Pro version you can also see a 365 day history of all shopping portal earnings rates. That gives you some insight on if you are getting the best deal or if you can wait a until a higher offer might come out.
Additionally, it will tell you which stores have stackable offers like from a shopping portal and a card-linked offer at the same time to earn even more points and cash back.

Dining Rewards Programs
Much like shopping portals each airline has a dining program where you add your credit cards and earn bonus miles when you dine at eligible restaurants. These dining programs all use the same platform so unfortunately you can only earn bonus miles in one program.
Bilt Rewards also has a dining program and since you earn transferable points, I use their dining program instead of an airline one.
Upside
Cash Bash on Gas
Most major gas station chains have rewards programs where you can earn discounts on each gallon of gas you buy. I won’t get into all of them here as there are too many to list.
Walmart+ members can save 10 cents per gallon at Murphy USA and Exxon/Mobil stations. Walmart+ is a benefit of the American Express Platinum card.
Upside is an app where you can earn cash back on gas station purchases as well as various restaurants and grocery stores. I’ve earned a whopping $419 with Upside.

Grocery Store Receipts with Fetch
This one isn’t a huge money maker but I use the Fetch app to snap a picture of my grocery store receipts to earn Fetch points which I can then redeem for various gift cards at places like Amazon. I get about $75 a year in Amazon gift cards from this in addition to my 4x points with my American Express Gold.
You get 25 points for ever receipt you upload as well as bonus points on various brands. 55,000 Fetch points gets you a $50 Amazon gift card.

Simply Miles
American Airlines has a separate offers page where you can earn redeemable AAdvantage miles as well as Loyalty Points which will help you get status with American. This is a partnership with Mastercard so you have to add at least one Mastercard to take advantage of these offers. Best of all they can stack with other offers and shopping portals you may be using!

Wrapping Up
Using the right card at the right place is just the beginning of earning as many points and miles as possible. There are a ton of different ways to earn even more points on all your purchases. Shopping portals, credit card offers, dining programs, Upside and Fetch are just a handful of the ways I earn more points than just what I get from swiping my credit card.
