40% Transfer Bonus from Chase to Virgin Atlantic

Chase is out with an awesome 40% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic that is valid from February 14th through February 28th, 2026. If you have either the Chase Sapphire Reserve(review), the Chase Sapphire Preferred(review), the Sapphire Reserve Business (review), or any of their Ink Business cards (review) that earn Ultimate Rewards points, you can transfer your points to Virgin with this great bonus. However, I wouldn’t recommend speculatively transferring your points without a specific redemption in mind.

What Can You Use Virgin Atlantic Miles For?

Virgin Atlantic has some potentially great redemptions for their own flights with one way award tickets. They instituted dynamic pricing in 2024, meaning costs for Upper Class (business) can be as low as 29,000 miles but can also go up to 350,000 miles or more each way. That means you could potentially book a one way business class flight to Europe for just 21,000 Chase points. However, Virgin does pass along fairly substantial taxes and fees at around $587 from the US to Europe and $968 from the UK to the US!

29,000 Points for Virgin Atlantic Upper Class

Virgin Atlantic is in SkyTeam so you can book flights with their other alliance members like Delta and Air France/KLM as well as non alliance partners like ANA for incredible redemptions to Japan from the US.

Booking ANA to Japan with Virgin Atlantic Miles

Finding business class seats to Japan is one of the hardest awards to find. It is just an incredibly popular destination so there aren’t a lot of award seats to come by. Virgin and ANA are partners so you can book award flights to Japan with Virgin miles. There are a few hoops to jump through but if you can find available seats, it is a phenomenal deal. You cannot search and book these partner flights through Virgin Atlantic’s website, but Virgin should have access to the same seats that ANA’s other partners.

So how do we find these flights? The easiest way is to search on United’s website and look for business class flights on ANA pricing out at 110,000 miles or 220,000 miles in first class.

110,000 Miles in Business Class

When you find a flight on ANA with United miles, you’ll want to pick up the phone and call Virgin Atlantic to book. The good thing is Virgin’s phone agents are some of the best in the industry. Have your Virgin Atlantic Flying Club number ready and linked to your credit card as a transfer partner. Once the agent confirms availability, you can transfer your points and get it booked! I would also recommend asking the agent to put the award on hold, which they can do for up to 48 hours. That will give you plenty of time to transfer your points, however they should all be instant.

The best part about booking ANA with Virgin Atlantic miles is how cheap they are.

From the US to Japan, business class is between 52,500 and 60,000 miles each way and first class is between 72,500 and 80,000 miles each way. Couple that with Chase’s 40% transfer bonus and these are even cheaper!

Compare that to what United is charging and it looks almost to good to be true.

Wrapping Up

Chase has a 40% transfer bonus to Virgin Atlantic from 2/14 through 2/28. This will unlock some extremely cheap award seats! I would not speculatively transfer points to Virgin Atlantic unless you have a specific redemption in mind.
